Financial Planning Steps Program
We've spent years refining an approach that actually works for everyday Australians. Not some complex system that only accountants understand, but practical steps you can start applying this week.
Start Your JourneyHow Our Program Evolved
Back in 2019, we launched with just twelve participants and a whiteboard full of ideas. What happened next shaped everything we teach today.
The Beginning
Started with small group sessions in Baulkham Hills. We tested different approaches with real families facing actual financial challenges. Most concepts from textbooks didn't translate well to everyday situations.
Rebuilding From Scratch
Threw out half our curriculum. Participants told us they needed less theory and more actionable frameworks. So we built modules around decisions people actually face, not abstract concepts.
Regional Expansion
Added remote learning options after requests from participants outside Sydney. Turned out our step-by-step approach worked even better when people could learn at their own pace.
Looking Forward
Our autumn 2025 intake opens in September. We're keeping groups small because personal feedback matters more than scaling fast. Next cohort begins in February 2026.
What We've Built Together
Numbers don't tell the whole story, but they show we're moving in the right direction. Here's what happened when real people applied these planning steps.
Practical Frameworks
Developed 18 different planning templates based on situations our participants actually faced. From mortgage decisions to investment allocation, each template came from real questions.
Participant Feedback
Over 240 people completed our program since 2019. We adjust content every quarter based on what worked and what didn't. The version running in 2025 barely resembles where we started.
Resource Library
Built a collection of 150+ real case studies. All from Australian households navigating planning decisions. Names changed, situations authentic, lessons applicable.
Dougal Pemberton
2023 Program Participant
I'd tried three different financial courses before this one. They were all too academic or too sales-focused. This program just gave me frameworks I could actually use. Helped me restructure our mortgage and set up proper emergency reserves.
Siobhan Thackery
2024 Program Participant
What I appreciated most was the honesty about limitations. No promises about returns or guaranteed outcomes. Just solid planning steps for different life stages. Started applying concepts within two weeks of the first session.
What You'll Learn
Six core modules that build on each other. We cover the foundations first, then move into more complex scenarios once those basics are solid.
Cash Flow Mapping
Forget complicated spreadsheets. We'll show you how to track money movement in under 15 minutes per week. You'll understand where money goes and why.
Debt Structuring
Most people have debt structured wrong. We look at actual mortgage options, offset strategies, and when refinancing makes sense for your specific situation.
Investment Basics
No get-rich-quick schemes here. We cover asset allocation, diversification principles, and how to evaluate options that match your risk tolerance and timeline.
Protection Planning
Insurance, emergency funds, and contingency planning. The boring stuff that matters when things go wrong. We help you figure out appropriate coverage levels.
Superannuation Strategy
Your super probably isn't optimized. We walk through contribution strategies, investment options within super, and how to make informed decisions about your retirement savings.
Review Systems
Planning isn't a one-time event. We teach you how to set up quarterly reviews that take 30 minutes and keep everything on track as circumstances change.
